Arise ~ A 5Rhythms and Writing Workshop
with La
yah & Sasha Singer-Wilson

Saturday, March 9, 2024

11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Dovercourt House,
805 Dovercourt Rd, Toronto

Emerging from a long winter, the first kiss of spring arrives before the crocuses sprout, and the red maple buds appear. The soil must be tended and cared for in order to welcome future growth and abundance. With devotion and discipline, we return to presence, deepening our capacity to listen to

our internal wisdom.

In our time together we will weave 5Rhythms with timed writing practice, alternating between the two, seeing how they support and inspire each other, and how the marriage of these practices might reveal what has been germinating through the winter.

5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement meditation practice - a workout for body and soul, and a map for awakening and embodying our creative capacity to meet all that life brings. There are no steps to follow in this improvisational movement methodology. Instead, we show up, tune in and move what is alive in us.

Timed writing practice invites us to be students of our creativity. A workout for the imagination and the heart, when we move our pens, we discover where we’re at and what might be getting in our way.

Come, clear the hibernation cobwebs, and meet yourself on the dance floor and the page.

As sisters we have been playmates, companions, and collaborators since before we could talk. Play, song, writing, and dance lit up our childhood. As adults we share an expressive enthusiasm, a fascination with the magic of improvisational art, and a reverent love of creative practice as a transformational and political act. We are thrilled to invite you to join us for "Arise", our first shared workshop offering.
